TESO¶

TESO is a Warsaw roaster founded by Jakub Poręcki, with 16 years in coffee behind it (including time as a barista in Scandinavia and roasting at the Kopi roastery). The name comes from Colombian slang for "an ace — a master of their craft" (and nods to Tesoro, treasure); the mask logo is inspired by the ritual gold masks in Bogotá's Gold Museum.
The house style is deliberately against the grain: TESO roasts very light, works mostly with washed coffees, and avoids anaerobics, co-ferments and novelty blends — aiming for a clean cup that shows origin and terroir, with acidity and delicacy rather than weight. Colombia is the heart of the range.
The coffees are organised into four colour tiers by "level of initiation": yellow (sweet, simple basics), green (a step up, with gentle acidity), red (fruity — Kenya, Ethiopia), and blue — Tesoro, the treasure tier (refined, special lots like Geisha and Pink Bourbon). A colour key on the back of each bag tells you where it sits.
TESO began roasting in 2025 and runs the café "Mała" in Warsaw's Praga district (opened April 2026) — a long, light, high-ceilinged space that doubles as the roastery's showroom, with deliberately accessible prices (a double espresso under 8 zł) and a relaxed, local-morning feel. Founder Jakub also runs Fontofice, a craft non-alcoholic-drinks brand (natural infusions like kaskara + apple or elderflower + grape), and is part of the friendly younger Warsaw roaster scene.
